Day 312: Hope Insists

Hope Insists

Last night in his acceptance speech, President Barack Obama said, “I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists that despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, keep working, to keep fighting.”
I listened as my youngest child danced through the room. This was her very first election and her guy had won. Her enthusiasm and hope were felt through the house long before the returns came in.
I thought back to the first time I held her in my arms wondering what my life would be like with three new children all with needs beyond my understanding. I’d end up caring for two more and nothing was ever easy, but I as always hopeful.
In my life, hope has insisted that I see beyond the evidence.
In the last few weeks I have heard that hope is not a strategy and I wholeheartedly agree; but strategy is only the engine and hope is the starter without which the engine could not kick into action.
Today, I want you to look at those areas in your life that are not going as you desire and I want you to hope beyond the evidence. What we can see is only a part of the picture.  Hope is your paintbrush; keep painting.
Keep reaching
Keep working
Keep fighting for what is true, real and wonderful

Hope insists that you do.
Be you, be well, be hopeful.

  2. My prayers were answered with Obama's re-election. The people won over money. I hoped for this outcome but was afraid that our system was for sale. We have another 4 years of hope.

Love to you and your family.
Don't send me any cats because Peruna is my mascot.
