Day 189 of Your Year to Wellness; Inspiration,Dedication and Perspiration

Inspiration+ Dedication+ Perspiration= Results

Earlier this week we learned how deprivation and indulgence lead to addiction, today I’d like to present you with a direct route out.
Wellness is the realignment of the spirit, mind and body. It is not one or the other; it is all three elements working in harmony. In order for this to happen, all three must get what they need. Throughout the year, I have been sharing these elements with you. It is only now that I am able to categorize them for you.
This may seem like putting the cart before the horse, but we are so accustomed to thinking of wellness as a “healthy body,” that I felt it necessary to undo this thinking before actually teaching the lesson.
I do believe it was that great philosopher and teacher Jesus Christ who said that you can’t pour new wine into old wine skins.
But I digress, okay, not really. Anyway, here is a simple way of looking at what you need on a daily basis.
Inspiration---your spirit must be uplifted and reignited on a daily basis. We know what we should do, but it the flesh, our humanity our age and ego that sometime get in the way. The Spirit is the Being and has no physical needs; yet we require a connection to one another other, nature and the Source if you will, in order to reflect our own Divine nature. (If you are just joining us, you may want to go back a few posts. I’m really not that deep but I have played deep on TV.)
Dedication—your mind needs to be committed to a cause, a purpose and activity so that it is can enlist the body to do the work. This dedication can be in the form of a belief, mantra, activity or exercise done habitually. If you want to break a habit, you must create new and healthy ones.
Perspiration—is just a rhyming was of saying “hard work.” You can’t just mentally commit to something you must put the effort into it as well. The effort can be getting up daily to exercise or write a post. Every day, I hear from readers who give me inspiration by sharing how and what they are learning and doing. This inspiration enables me to remain dedicated to getting up and that dedication makes me roll over, stretch, get up and make my bed and then sit at my desk to write. I may be tired or dealing with other life issues, but the cycle keeps me coming back to my desired results. It also keeps me away from the thoughts, patterns and behaviors that are not conducive to wellness.
Everything is energy and we are all connected. I hope you know that your effort to be well makes the world a better place.

Be you, be well, be an inspired, dedicated and hard-working Being.

I love you
Bertice Berry, PhD.

  1. This is a great & very well timed entry that ties into Day 185 that helped hone in on what may be the trigger & or behavioral tendencies. Now, this entry hones in our individual solution to the problem. Also, nice groundwork for the eventual inevitable future "maintenance" period. But for now, on the current journey, this Inspiration+ Dedication+ Perspiration= Results formula is right on point & on focus. Thanks!
